Welcome to The Forge

The Forge at The Court was one of two auditoria in New Zealand's foremost theatre company producing new plays of the highest quality throughout the year. From 2007 The Forge became The Court’s staging ground for new international, local and devised works presented to an adventurous audience engaged with contemporary theatre. The theatre seated 123 in a “box” setting with the audience seated on two sides.

For three seasons in The Forge, a passionate team of theatre practitioners created edgy, challenging and dynamic productions. The focus on new and contemporary plays and devised productions brought new ideas, new audiences, new playwrights and new chemistry into the space.
